We’ve never even met. Hello, I’m Chris. I’m invading her internet persona. Here is some… music! I have heard it called “slowcore” and “sadcore”. It is slow and sad, but I am unsure how cores are involved. These are some “early demos” from Red House Painters. I know practically nothing of the story behind this. One day I found it, I listened to it, and now, it’s here. The Audio is cassette tape quality, pretty much. Definitely Listenable. This collection seems to preceed the group’s debut EP, “Down colourful Hill”. Much of the material here was later re-recorded and released on the first EP, and the first two albums (both titled “Red House Painters“). But there’s some unreleased tracks, an alternate versions of released songs. As is the case with early rhp, there’s a lot of soft misery in this collection. The slow dirges and gentle clean guitars are definitely there, representin. But there’s also a great deal of uncooked youthful zeal that has not been exposed elsewhere. Because I am new here, and this is my maiden contribution, I demand that you enjoy this.
